Default What Tequila are people drinking?

In an earlier thread, someone mentioned Tito's Vodka as a very good vodka. I tracked it down and was very pleasantly surprised. It is my go to Vodka and I use it in all my mixed drinks. I still like Belvedere when drinking it straight.

I need a nice tequila to drink straight. I've tried Patron Silver and Cabo Wabo Blanco, both of which are very smooth but at close to $40 (750ml) are a little expensive.

Does anybody have a suggestion for a value tequila for drinking straight-up and please, no Jose Cuevo Gold recommendations!!!

Thanks,
Michael

I drink Two Fingers as a mixing tequila ,cost me less than $15 per 750ml.

Not too bad straight-up either.

dos dedos? are you kidding me. No wonder your stomach tried to jump out of your body. I barf at the smell of that shit. Tres generationes, don julio or patron or GTFO. There are better tequila's but they cost much more than those.

Try el jimador for budget tequila. It's supposed to be good. I haven't tried it though.

don julio, reposado at minimum. herradura is pretty good too.

edit: hmm, those are >$40/bottle though. cheaper than that and can drink straight up? might be hard to find. unless you go to mexico?

We used to live on that shit in college, and it was VILE. I didn't drink tequila for years after that. . .
