There are enough people around me obsessed with time that I don't wear any. When I worked as a director of engineering for hotels I was the only staff member not late to staff meetings along with the GM. I didn't wear a watch then either.
On my morning drive into the office I see all these Bimmers and Audi's rushing against the clock, windows up with AC cranked, worried about their hair and I (with top down, hair blowing everywhere, wearing cargo shorts & Livestrong golf shirt) smile knowing I picked the right career path - 30 yr old Parrothead.
On the occasional situation I may need a watch(golf outing, etc..), I wear my blue-plastic CASIO G-Shock. I think I paid $75 on AMAZON way back when they first started offering non-book items. Still works like a charm.
My dad told me once that a Rolex doesn't tell time any better than the $10 Timex he wears.

^^^I Love it! My wife always asks why I don't care about or wear watches and my answer is always the same...it screws up my tan!

people buy watches for a lot of reasons. the thread was started to see who actually collected watches for the mechanics, tradition, and style of it and understand that they dont tell perfect time because of a little thing called gravity. anyone on the board have a tourbillon?.
it has nothing to do with your car or what you wear. i guess everyone has their opinion though and how they like to spend their money.
