WE fight against evil oppression and tyrany! It hasn't changed since the beginning of time and all freemen will heed the call, To Arms, To Arms! We value the Liberty which we have so graceous been intrusted with. This value superceeds all other callings in life. To taste freedom is to sample Gods purest and most perfect gift. GOD BLESS AMERICA and may her freedom never falter.

Thanks Mark!!

Cheers

Jeff

Excellent thread! We have CNN on at work 24/7, & I get so tired of listening to the media ask their stupid questions, hashing over the same thing, time after time. I am so glad Mr. Rumsfeld pointed that out to these nimwits. The media just doesn't get it.

I commend all the countries of the world that are standing not just with us but with each other to put a stop to such attrocities. When the Twin Towers fell it may have bloodied a lot of Americans and US property but let's not forget that the entire complex is called the WORLD Trade Center. There were like 30 some countries that lost people in this tragic event.

As a world community acts such as these should not be tolerated. And the entire world should take care of the problem.

Good God, you guys. Is this lockstep patriotism? The way we choose to prosecute the first sixty days of the war determine whether it lasts three months or three years.

The Vietnamization of this conflict was a beginner's mistake and one -- I'm sure -- that came from continuing to treat Colin Powell with less respect than he is due. Trying to mimic the coalition strategy of the Gulf War is also (if you'll excuse me) bush league. The two circumstances are totally different. We were attacked.

Our strategy needs to be to use every element: military, political, and public support, to scare the shit out of the Taliban. They need to understand that we are crazed bulls coming for blood. And they need to believe that we'll let the chips fall where they may. Otherwise, they will be tempted to fight on for an awfully long time. Just look at how they panicked before we dropped this ball and how they've recovered.

Luckily, we seem to have gotten back on track. Let's let the Administration save face and move on. But let's not turn into blind followers. Clearly, if someone hadn't started asking these questions we wouldn't have seen the quick about-face in Northern Afganistan.

Jim,
I totally agree....we need to go at this like our very lives depend on winning(they do!). As for lockstep patriotism, maybe I'm just tired, but I don't see your point? Are you saying that we are just blindly following? Again, I'm tired, so maybe I'm just not thinking clearly.
