Vegemite: Meat substitute, high in protein! Tastes like S@#t and has a strong odor. Spread it on bread, salt crackers or any type of staple. Really, though it's not that bad. Kind of like beef consentrate. It is a vegitarian meat substitute.

A little known fact is that Vegemite was introduced in the 1930s as a competitor to Marmite. The orginal name for Vegemite was "Parwill" and the advertising slogan was "Marmite BUT Parwill". - groan

Needles to say the name went down like a lead balloon and 12 months later it was officially changed to Vegemite.

Kimchi, basically cabage with hot spices. Ask koreans about it. Well, I'm korean you can ask me
And yes, I'd also say it's an acquired taste. I kinda like it and I have NO idea why. I don't like much spicy food.
