Vegemite: Meat substitute, high in protein! Tastes like S@#t and has a strong odor. 
Spread it on bread, salt crackers or any type of staple. Really, though it's not that bad. Kind of like beef consentrate. It is a vegitarian meat substitute.

And yes, I'd also say it's an acquired taste. I kinda like it and I have NO idea why. I don't like much spicy food.
