If you get some remember to use it sparingly. Most non-natives who try it think it's the worst thing they've ever tasted because they spread it an inch thick. You should only use enough to barely cover the very tip of a knife.

However, contrary to the view that all Australians grew up on the stuff, I hate it.

Bovril tastes so, so, so ... much better compared with Vegemite, ate it once and I nearly puked. But anyway, it's more like an Aussie Icon than anything else. Non-theless, it's not good enough to make it onto my kitchen shelves.

Marmite all the way for me. Bovril comes a close second. We have Vegemite in the cupboard, but that is where it stays as far as I am concerned....

Not a big cottage cheese fan me. I use Marmite with strong cheddar, toasted... lovely.

You can spread Bovril on toast or drink it, whichever....

Sprouts are excellent, eat those and a couple of hours later I am able to clear a room!!!!
