What would you do???
Hey guys & gals...I need your help. My wife and I may be expecting a new member to our family, so I want to get your opinion on our S2000 situation. We currently have two cars:
1. 2001 Ford Expedition
2. 2001 Honda S2000
We already have a son, and I am sometimes tasked with dropping off/picking up the little one. This is fine, but if we have another child, that means I can't use the S2000 for this purpose.
Should I:
a - Keep the S2000 and buy a cheap older car
-or-
b - Sell the S2000 and purchase a more practical "Family" car
Let me know your $0.02.
Thanks!

Being single and no kids, my opinion means squat. However, I have a 2000 Explorer Sport and a 2001 Stook. I don't see why you just can't keep both. The one is a practical kid and cargo carrier and the other is for fun.
I assume there's a financial basis for your question, otherwise you would keep what you have. Anything I can do to get SUVs off the road delights me, so I vote to keep the S2k.
Posing the question you have on this forum will probably get you a very biased response, skewed in favor of keeping the s2k.

I understand that most people on the board will think with their "S2000 Love," and tell me to keep it. I thought I'd see what others might say after letting some of the passion go (if that's at all possible). Heck - otherwise I wouldn't even be posting this, 'cause I know I want to keep the S2000.
I know my wife and I can use the Expedition most of the time, but there are occasions when my wife or I will be driving the S2000 and will need to shuttle the kids somewhere. So in all practicality, I need at least two cars with at least 3 seats.
Obviously money is an issue, and being that I've only had my S2000 for 84 days, I understand that I am upside down on the car. On the same token, it doesn't make sense for me to buy another car while my S2000 is on a lease...or does it?
Keep the feed-back coming, and thanks for your support!!!

I'm in absolutely identical situation (except for the Ford Explorer part) but since S2000 was never a good car for people with kids - then to me - it makes no real difference if one kid or 2 kids are involved - the issue is the same.
The solution is that who ever has the job of moving the kids takes the bigger car. Unfortunately that means you need to hand over the keys some days.
I had thought about 911 as maybe more practical since it has some kind of seat at the back - but at the end of the day you don't really want babies in sports cars - they should be in the SUV - not hit by one.

Maybe I'm just dense, but why can't you schedule it so that whoever is chauffering the kids around is driving the SUV? Or are you suggesting that you would give up the s2k just to be sure both of you would be driving a car that could accommodate the kids? Which, IMHO, sounds like overreacting.
