You should also consider that while you are holding onto dogs to try and squeeze a few extra dollars per share out of it, there are other stocks and sectors doing very well in this economy. You'll do better to take the loss, invest in these stocks, and start making up the difference.

Holding them.

A wise man (financial planner) once told me never put into stocks what you don't want back for at least 7 years.

Investments, for the most part, should be made with the mid to long-term horizon in mind. Just my 2cents.
