What was the first motorized vehicle that you bought/owned? # of wheels don't matter. Just bought my 8yo a XR70R and started thinking back. Mine was a gocart that we pieced together when I was about 10.

Do boats count? 16ft wood skiff with a 5hp Gale Outboard when I was 10 years old. Next was a 69 Mustang Grande with a 351 when I was 16. I had the only car at my High School that would pull wheelies.

I was 15 and I bought it from Dad. The day I turned 16 I was able to get it on the road. Even today, I get week in the knees thinking about buying one and restoring it. There is something very special about your first love, er, I mean car!

1964 Ford Falcon, 4-door, Maroon with Tan vinyl interior, 170 cubic inch straight six with a three in the tree ( that would be a manual 3-speed tranny operated via steering column shifter ).

Honda "Trail 50" at the end of 1st grade, followed by a Honda "Trail 70" at the end of 3rd grade. both were "gifts" so I guess that doesn't count.

The first motorized vehicle that I OWNED was a POS rail-buggy (welded 3 inch steal pipe) with a VW engine. I bought it for $200 when I was 11 & learned to drive (off road of course).

An '89 Volkswagon Jetta... WHat piece of SHITE! It had a moonroof... that was manually operatied (there was a crank next to the dome light up front), no abs, no lap belt and horribly front heavy. That thing was an exercise in steel, cunning and reflex to drive in rain on smooth cement (i'm surprised I don't have ulcers from driving that thing). Drivers side headlamp was kinda wobbly and went out a couple times in the 3.5 yrs I had it (it was promptly fixed by banging the headlamp). I went thru 2 or 3 wheel bearings in that car. The trunk space was cavernous, though! Easily fit 2 or 3 dead bodies, possibly more if you cut them up. But it got the job done. It was my first car and I always thought I would miss it terribly when I got a new car.

The mourning period was cut terribly short when I got my '93 GSR.
