Thanks for the sentiment. It's getting better but I do miss the knife throwing. Lol! They are always fighting down there. Kind of dangerous. I've been inivited several times but I don't believe it is safe. It's getting to the point that they are kidnapping their own for ransom. Wife's brother was taken from Cartagena area. He was a marine motor mechanic (decent job down there) held him for ransom, bled the immediate family of money and then killed him. Hasn't been found. Yes there are many Colombian's in Florida. A few out here on the West coast but nowhere near as many. Yes they do have derogotory names for people of different regions. If I remember right, most or many on the coast are black. They even have a different dialect. "Oye che". It sounds like they are arguing when they talk. It's just the way they talk. Real fast! Colombia is having a hard time of it. Hope things get better. Do you speak Spanish also? Does your wife speak English? My wife didn't speak a word of English when I met her but she picked it up quickly. I know people that have been here 20 years and still don't speak English. She was speaking and writing within a year. I was able to help her because I am bilingual English/Spanish. Seems like a lifetime ago.
