What's a good digital camera for close pictures?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the original poster just asking about 'up close' pictures, not overall quality. It's been my experience that most point and shot camera's have several modes built in, and one is called 'macro' mode. Macro mode shortens the focal length, and allows you to take REAL close up pics with perfect focus. On Nikkons, macro mode is engaged (oddly enough) by cycling thru the flash options. The Macro mode is represented by a little flower on the LCD. Bear in mind, there are limits to how close point and shot cameras can get, but switching into this mode will allow you to grab those detail pics with ease.
well it doesnt really matter that much on the megapixels. what matters most is if it has a feature called macro. i have a canon g3, and the close up shots are alright, heres a few. i know i can benifit alot from a macro lens.
