what's the smartest decision you've ever made
1) Attending Purdue University and earning a degree in aerospace engineering.
2) Working my butt off to be offered the opportunity to work on America's next human and cargo space launch vehicles, NASA's CLV and CaLV.

The smartest decision I'd ever made was to buy my first piece of property while in college. I still see the benefits of the equity I made in that decision today, 15 years later.
The luckiest decision I'd ever made was taking the later ferry to work on September 11th. It was a beautiful morning and I had my top down all the way down to the ferry station and decided not to rush. God bless the S2000 and sunshine.

living at home during college years....well i just turned 19 now but still... i think its a wise decision. srue you dont get to live it out by yourself out there in the world but personally, i dont care. i get a roof over my head and food on the table for free. i work and i save my money. hopefully by the time im out of college(3 years), ill have enough to atleast buy a small apartment to rent to people.
I went to college in my hometown (Indiana, PA....ahhaa...stupid place)...
When I lived at home, I actually got horrible grades for some reason and I was driving home drunk from parties and didn't have anywhere to take "the ladies" if I didn't happen to trick one.....
Once I moved to "off campus" housing with some friends life was a million times more fun..... more banging, more drinking, better grades, no more drunk driving (i actually lost my license for hit and run when i was drunk), etc......
This is a pretty cool thread.
So far the best investment decision I've made was buying my first house by living with my parents for 6 months and getting enough of a downpayment after college. Despite going nuts living with them....
Then I bought my S. Which was a great decision for my mental well being.
Now that I'm gaining some equity I'll probably pull some out and pick up my first rental.

Kicking myself in the ass partway through highschool and getting my act together. Now, I'm one semester away from my engineering degee and, by some amazing turn of luck, I'm going to graduate without owing anyone any money.
