What's the strangest thing your dog's ever done?
Sondra may be on the right track. I had a Siberian Husky that started getting very agressive at about 3 years of age. I talked to my vet and he reminded me that dogs are "pack" animals and that this fact is especially true with some breeds like Huskies.
He suggested that I get down on the floor and "play" with him. You know, wrestle around, tug-of-war with a toy, etc. Then at some point (keeping safety in mind) grab the dog and hold him down on the floor until he stops struggling. In the dog's mind he has now conceeded that you're the alpha or boss animal.
It worked like a champ. When he stopped struggling, I let him up and he just rolled over on his back, exposing his belly (acknowlegement of his inferior position in the "pack") and licked my hand.
This process had to be repeated about every 4-6 months (it's the normal "challenge" process that occurs in the "pack".

If she barks a lot and howls at the moon, it's worth a try. Just remember that I said:"keeping safety in mind". In other words: "watch out for those sharp teeth!"
