When are wheels just too expensive?

yeah, $5K is a lot of money for wheels, but it's kinda good that BBSs are so expensive. otherwise, you'd see them all over the place. having expensive wheels is akin to having expensive shoes, or expensive clothes, or expensive purse. you don't need them, but they're luxury items that you can own if you have the money and are willing to spend the money on them.

All I can say is ... wow.

I was just browsing through a few different sites looking at wheel prices without too many surprises. Then I paid a visit to TireRack to check out the good ole' BBS LM's and the price has jumped yet again.

Four wheels 18x8 front 18x9.5 rear wrapped in S0-3s.

$5,062.00 before tax and shipping, $5147.00 shipped.

Crikey, thats alot for a set of wheels. Granted they are beautiful wheels with amazing build quality.

So the question becomes, when is it just too much?

You just wanted to share the pic your wheel. Btw, weren't LM's only like $2800 for a set of 18's, without tires?

HRE are pretty pimp alright. BBS are nice but not $5K nice. I spent 3 grand on my set of Volk Winnings but they came with tires and were 18" wheels for my supra, that's my limit.

$500 a rim is the very max i'm willing to pay. Anything more and it just makes me feel all dirty inside. Like I should do better things with my $$.
