Unhappy Where Can I Get 20,000 Gal Of Water From?

I need to fill up my pool and I need about 20,000 gal of water. Anyone have any ideas or where did you get yours from (if applicable)?

Well, I live in the country so fire hydrants are null. A water hose would take up to 3 weeks to fill it and I have to at least fill it 1/4 of the way before the installers will leave. That = $$ since they are paid by the hr.

I was told to ask my local fire dept since they dump their water after X amount of time if not used. They refused to do it. Yet 2 towns over they will do it but I'm out of their jurisdiction. I've called a few places and this one wants $350 to fill it. I'd rather find a cheaper route though...I'm already spending a fortune on this pool!!!

Any ideas?

Spa02S2K, 3 days is fast. My neighbors did theirs last year and it took them at least 2 weeks to fill it. OUrs is actially larger then theirs so I figure a bit longer. I dont want to wait expecially with the 105* heat!!

Oh well, I'll keep looking.

Well, you can ask your neighbors if you can borrow their hoses so you can uh... water your plant or something. If that doesn't work I guess just go to the store and buy 20k gallons worth of water.

If he does that and you figure 20,000 gallons (1 per each container) at the least .69 cents a gallon.... that's well over $13,800!!! A lot more than paying $350!

What kinda water pressure do you have that you aren't able to fill a Pool quickly. OHHHH I have an idea. Go to your water dept. and rent out a "Fire Hose Meter" you can attach it to your nearest fire hose, and pump into the pool. Then when you go and bring in the Meter they will charge for the amount you used.... At least that's what construction company's can do down here. Worth a shot to look into!!

$350 is not that bad. Here in Chicago there is this company called like "H20" or something that just hauls water.

For dedicated use of a tanker (and driver/pool filler)for a hour or two and the cost of 100 cubic yards of clean water this isn't too bad.

Matter of fact isn't GVW of a 18-wheeler 75,000 lbs? 20,000 gallons will be approx 160,000 net. You'd need 3 tankers. So quoted price may be even more of a deal.
