Cornell University campus store. Standing with a group of students in silence watching it on the store's common area tv.

I was at work and we were laying people off as it was during the last recession. When I heard what was going on, I went to our theater to see if the main screen was on... it was and shortly thereafter, I saw the second tower hit. It was devastating.

The company suspended the layoff process due to the circumstances. Oddly enough, the last person laid off before that suspension was my boss. He was a Captain in the Air Force Reserve.

I was in the UK, I had been with my girlfriend only a few weeks at that time (we're still together), and I was heading to her place in the car, when the radio programming was interrupted. I burst into her apartment, she was sitting there with a friend, and I was saying put the TV on, put the TV on!! Put the TV on and we just stood there open mouthed watching for a few minutes, then we saw the second plane hit live. I'll never forget it.

I was a sophmore in biology. We just got back in from a firedrill. A teacher yelled in the hall to turn our TV's on and then i saw it.

Fast forward to now and i am serving our country over in Kuwait now and have already made my tours through Iraq and Afghanistan. It still a very emotional day on military bases. We had a long retreat to remeber the fallen.

Science class, junior year. My teacher looked at us and said this will be on of the days you remember the rest of your lives! Boy he wasent joking...

Not to long after, airforce one buzzed the school. It was headed to offit AFB (Omaha).

Sad day...

I was at work in Baltimore (Zurich Insurance), listening to the Howard Stern show and Baba Booey burst into the studio saying a plane had crashed into one of the world trade towers. I assumed it was a light, single engine airplane. Once Howard announced a second plane had crashed into tower two, I knew it was terrorism.
