I'm speculating that is your current credit card interest rate... Highest allowed by law.
...and unlikely to do much better on unsecured debt.
I agree with The Raptor here.......
10 years ago I had US$9,000 worth of debts on my credit cards. Each month, my income just about covered my standard outgoings, which meant that the debt was getting higher and higher because I couldn't afford to make the payments. I went to my bank and took a loan to pay off all of the CC debts (If you have a decent bank the interest rate should be substantially lower!). I then cut up all the CC's and knuckled down to getting myself out of debt.
It took me 4 years to become debt free, but believe me, it was well worth the pain that I went through

I agree with James and have a wrinkle to add. They say when you start a new small business, it will take five years to know whether you are going to survive. After I started Athanor, I didn't have a pot to piss in, racked up huge credit card debt, had the IRS slap leins on my bank accounts twice, and was forever hounded by bill collectors.
I always said I needed to hit one big remediation job to get out from under. It was really weird. Right at five years, almost to the day, I hit two and my troubles were over. I paid off over $27,000 in consumer debt (it felt wonderful) and put $60,000 into remodeling my house. (Look at my new post in the "Things will never be the same again" thread to see what a horror story that was.) I've never looked back.
