My friend at West Point military academy sent me these shots to me a LONG time ago, possibly even a year ago or so.
At that time he described it as a mine explosion, and he seemed pretty exact about it, since his instructor had showed them this picture earlier to the class.
It's definitely not recent Afghanistan footage, since I saw it a long time ago. I think my friend had mentioned it was from somewhere in eastern europe, as someone else here as already mentioned before.
It's some cool shiznit though!
