Default Who are your Heroes?

I think everyone needs to have heroes, male or female. I am curious as to your heroes, so will start with a short list of mine:

Stephen Hawking
Ayrton Senna
Michael Schumacher
Richard Marcinko
Margaret Thatcher
Bill Gates
Winston Churchill
Gloria Steinman
Jackie Stewart
Don Garlits
Warren Buffet
Albert Einstein

...I have many more, but, after all, this is a short list!

I'd have to go with anybody who actively supports unpopular causes that are opposed by the fascist ruling class. Unlike myself, who ALWAYS takes the easy way out.

Guess I'm thinking of:
* anti-Vietnam war demonstrators (who I HATED when I was a stupid young male, but I guess they saved my *ss).
* civil-rights activists (who I HATED because I was a stupid racist white guy from Chicago)
* environmental activists (who I HATED because they showed morals)

You know, people that put real time into unpopular but need movements.

i never really had a "hero", but after what happened here, im going to have to nominate nyc's bravest and nyc's finest (FDNY, NYPD). while standing on west street that horrible morning, i saw droves of firemen, nypd, papd, and emt's walk towards the pit of hell and we all know what happened next.

Some more of mine:

Martin Luther King Jr
Galileo
Leonardo Da Vinci
Vincent Van Gough
Matisse
Andy Warhole
General Lee
Richard Bach
Mika Hakenen
Frank Williams
Piccaso
Machevelli
Hubble (forget his first name)
Karl Von Bon
John McCain
Adrea Agassi

I guess they all represent something I highly admire and/or respect.

Some of the spelling may be off, but thats off the top of my head.
