Wow, you must have never gotten drunk before. Good for you.

People drink for the psychoactive effect. It disinhibits you. You are more relaxed. It is a social lubricant. Some people are more reserved, so when they drink they are more talkative and make more friends at parties--everyone has a better time.

Drinking on dates makes flirting easier. Actually, it just makes dating easier in general. It takes away the jitters and makes everything smoother.

Some people drink to relax, some drink to have a good time. It can make you problems go away while you are drunk or it may make them worse depending on the situation.

Some people are alcoholics and are physically dependent on alcohol.

In short, too many reasons to list. Alcohol will never go away. It is part of the fabric of mankind.

I actually like the taste. White Russians or a Corona so cold there is just a hint of ice in it.

i drink because i enjoy it. plain and simple. i either drink alone or with small groups of friends. i've spent enough time in the bar scene and with the party crowds to dislike them both. sometimes i like to have a drink when i get off work to calm me down. also when i'm working in my shop a drink will keep me from spazzing out over the fact that i just cut myself for the umpteenth time. sometimes i drink to get drunk. i like the feeling. i like to drink when i cook. there are tons of reasons people drink. these are just a few of mine.
