we had a psuedo friend that was 73 when he died. we had tried to help him out the last handful of year of his lifel. he had spent the last 10 years of his life cooped up in a mobil home smoking cigs and watching CSPAN, driving an old escort wagon.

I kept saying for the last 10 years.... travel, get a new car, etc..... but he wouldn't and every year his net worth would go up.....

In the end he died with about $140k (not a ton of $ but surely enough to go to europe, or drive a cadillac or something) in the bank but lived like he. So he died and left all the $ to his estate.

I would have at least blown some on some hookers!

The taxes are different and if you pay more in property tax it's less elsewhere adn viceversa. Either way we live in California and you get taxed out the behiny. NOt as much as canada, but alot.

lol

yeh, I plan on taking out a huge loan, maxing out my credit card to go on some exotic crazy adventure where I fight an aligator and work as a government spy before I die.

some sort of suicide mission with lots of money.

sorta like 007's missions but in real life where you actually die trying some of those stunts.

This situation reminds me of racing. Sort of like the more you know and the more you experience the more you realize your personal skills/wealth is still quite small.

I used to say I'm a much better driver in the past than I do now. As I got better I have seen really* good drivers and realize just how far I still have to go to be considered 'good' in my own opinion.

As my wealth builds, I come in to contact with those who tower above me in success, and realize just how little I really know compared to what I wish I knew.

Who do you think is going to think he's richer? A poor guy who's never had more than 10 grand in savings that just won a 100,000$ lottery or the least successful in his law firm attorney making 70k a year?

I have become more and more modest as well, and I'm very, very far from what anyone besides broke college kids would call wealthy.
