Old people have just as much right to drive as you do, so saying they should all be banned is ridiculous.
On the other hand here in Oregon an elderly driver drives through a grocery store, drug store, etc, prettry regularly. Seems throttle pedal gets confused with brake pedal.
I agree with guy from Ontario who says people over 80 should be tested annually.
My pet peeve is getting cut off by some blond mom driving a big ass SUV's while on the phone and then flippin' me off if I honk

well my bad I was going overboard with the whole banning thing of Seniors. I was just piss that my state allowed someone that was 90 years old who was clearly not able to drive, and nearly DEAF. drive a vehicle on the roads. do they need to ban all older drivers? no. but I do think it is fair that they have some type of annual test. just like they make teenagers take a bunch of test before they can even get their licenses. Both age groups are high risk drivers for different reasons.

First off old people are responsible for more accidents/deaths then teenage drivers for **** sake.

That is a very incorrect statement.
indeed.

Endo, you should check out the statistics provided by NHTSA first before posting. it's actually the young kid and young adults who are responsible for the majority of accidents that involve fatality. have you ever wondered why their insurance rates are high? now you know.

I also agree on this. teenagers are the highest risk drivers for a reason, There is a reason why they pay the most for insurance. they have no time behind the wheel. tend to think stupid with their cars. also they think they are king of the roads. I believe no 16 year old should be able to get their license untill they are 18 with at least 2 years of driving. but that is just me. but that is my 2cents

Its funny too because it never gets adopted because its discrimination...Such BS. First off old people are responsible for more accidents/deaths then teenage drivers for **** sake. Kids make irresponsible driving decisions, old people juststraight up dont know whats going on/forgot/cant see/cant hear and its 10x more dangerous.

Second, saying this is discrimination is the same as saying the marines are discriminating because they only let in people from the age of 18-28. What if a 12 year old wants to join?

Thats not discrimination no, because a 12 year old is not an effective killer and is not fully developed mentally and physically.

Ive had to dodge a van full of 90 year olds one time. Came within a foot of T-boning their car and then about a foot or two away from hitting a Mac Truck head on because that old **** pulled out in front of me. When i went up to his window to freak out I realize their age and didnt scream or do anything. This guy told me his passenger's head was blocking the window. I was coming towards the goddamn DRIVER SIDE window. Im just thinking wow this old motherfker doesnt even know which direction I came from. Theyre so damn oblivious its way too dangerous.
Good argument. I agree 100%.

I rode with my grandpa a couple of years ago and he scared the shit out of me.

First he merges onto a road that's 45mph and cuts someone off. Then he's doing 25mph on the same road, finally the dude behind him decides to pass and my grandpa almost starts merging off towards an exit and almost hits the guy passing him. Then we're on the way back and he almost misses his turn, taking it at a whopping 25mph (no braking and we're in his Buick). I thought we would flip, somehow we made it. Needless to say I'm done with this.

He was taking my sister to school while my dad was out of town. Round trip takes about 30min. So I came home for brunch after an 8am class to find he wasn't home yet, it was like 10:00am. I ask his wife where he might be, she said "Oh he hasn't returned yet" in a nonchalant 80yrd way. Finally he walks in 20min later and says he wound up in Newport News and had to take the interstate back..... Newport News is 20min away! He doesn't turn on his phone unless he's making a call....................

A few months later he totaled the Buick running a red light, but he's been practicing law in his small town for 50 years and knows everyone so he'll never lose his license. He was unharmed.

If I ruled the world there would be a 80 yr. old age limit after that we ship you off to some remote island and you can live with the rest of the old folks.
