Why Does Beer Taste So Bad?
#11
I've never acquired the taste for beer. If it taste bad why would I want to? As far as I'm concerned it taste like horse piss smells. You beer drinkers are welcome to my lifetime share of the stuff. BG, I'm sure you can find something better to drink.

You are not alone in your assessment of the taste of beer. Although I do drink the stuff, I can't honestly say that I've had a single brand of beer that I can deem as "good tasting". Sometimes, when it's really hot out, a beer is very refreshing. I have a 12 pack of beer sitting around the house and it usually takes me up to a year to finish it. I drink beer mostly when I am out socializing but 2 or three per night is about all I can tolerate. I spread it out with hard liquors.
As already stated, it is an acquired taste that one develops over the years. It is not unlike many other things we eat or drink. Smoking is pretty repulsive when you first start. It's not until you get the addiction that the taste becomes nullified. And why would anyone really want to eat MUSTARD!? Or 100 year old eggs? Or chocolat covered ants? Have you seen some of the stuff they sell in Chinatown?
If you are used to eating the guts out of those giant black beetles, then this would be quite pallatable and nutricious but you'll never see me eat 'em.

I love the taste of beer... and you had a Corona so the quality didn't hinder on your decision, Corona is pretty good... Not everyone likes beer though, that's understandable.. after the first few though, you don't really care what it tastes like..

Is there a difference between the stuff that comes out of the tap and the stuff that is in bottles or cans?
I don't think I'll ever get used to the taste of beer and that's fine with me.. hehe.
I'll stick with my girly martinis.

Corona is my staple beer also, I drink at least 3-4 every day, and of course more on weekends. Corona is a good light beer for casual beer drinkers - not too flavorful and goes down easy.
But the connoisseur type of beer drinker tends to dislike Corona for exactly those reasons. These are the folks who prefer microbrews and beers with more flavor.
Babygrass, have you tried Tequiza? A lot of people hate it, but it tastes a little less like a typical beer. It's light and has a slight lemon flavor. If you don't like typical beer, maybe try something more atypical. Or, try chasing shots with beer...that's what I normally do, and the beer tastes GREAT in comparison!
Come to think of it, I hated beer at first, but came to like it after a year or so at college. Just keep trying - don't give up! If all else fails, keep chugging those martinis, IMO they're much better than any beer.
