Why domestics will always be cool...
the main reason why f-bodies and other "american" cars are cheaper in the usa is simply that, they are made and sold in the usa. whereas imports- japanese, german, british cars need to be imported, thus making them more expensive.
a case in point. in australia, i will use aussie dollars for this example, the subaru wrx costs about $40k, the integra type r (or rsx) costs about $50k, the new ford focus rs if it was to come to australia will be around $60-$65k.
in the UK, the wrx is about 21k pounds sterling, the focus rs is about 19k pounds strlg while the civic type r (they dont have the integra) is about 17k pounds strlg. the reason why the wrx is more expensive is because it is made in japan while the civic and focus are built in britain.
back to ur topic, yes u can buy domestics that will go fast and yes they will be cheaper, but that is purely because they are made in the local country whereas the imports will always be less economical in terms of bang for buck.
but yeah, i enjoy the american v8s purely for what they r, torque monsters that can go straight real fast, how do i know, my brother had a 69 mustang mach1, a 98 mustang gt and now has a 01 cobra vert. but in terms of build quality and overall ergonomics and driveability, the s2k is a superior car. but thats my opinion

xviper, I don't think this post was anything other than a video showing a car going fast. You have to read pretty deeply to see anything other than that in so few words. It takes you so many words to reply to so few, don't you think you maybe inject a little of your own prejudice into a short video of a car going faster than anything you have ever owned?

define minor bolt-ons.
ummmm, exhaust, air filter, turbo, some form of forced induction, port and polishing heads, complete engine overhaul with the "John Force" funny car special and oh yeah, trusty old nitrous.
bah normal things running 11's with minor bolt-ons.
i luv v8's, got one, but scuzzy is insinuating that most v8's can achieve what was shown from only minor bolt-ons from his post.
scuzzy should of been a little clearer with his post like saying
"this is what u can achieve in an f-body by piling in warren buffetts bank account and with two lifeties worth of tinkering and tuning to get it just right".
warren buffett being the worlds second richest man and quite possibly GOD in the investment community.
PS please read this post with humour in mind, i have a warped sense of humour and have been told that i'm quite blunt and straight forward. but i say to them "FCUK THEM"
