Why on earth would someone do this?!
I was driving down the alley that gets to my parking lot earlier and had to slow down a little to let this girl with two Bassett Hounds get out of the way.
Wait, let me give a little background. I live in the city of Chicago, where dog ownership brings with it, along with all the joys man's best friend, a particularly disturbing indignity:
Poop.
It's not the poop itself, really, it's that laws here in the urban jungle of Chicago require that owners pick up the poop that their dogs....ummmm....create. I'm sure this is no different than other metropolitan areas, however. At least I hope it's not.
So, here is my question. I happened to glance in my rear view and see that she was carrying two plastic bags of the dog's...errrr....duty (no pun intended). As she walks towards the dumpster, I see that she only throws ONE of the baggies away. She continued to carry the other!
I was like
and
all at the same time...but it was mostly
What could she possibly do with that bag of poop?
Actually, I'm not sure that I want to have the answer to this question...! Because what is really scary to see people withOUT dogs carrying around little bags of poop. That, my friends, is frightening, truly frightening.

I have 2 possible answers for you, buddy.
1. She might want to get the poop analyzed in the lab. The doggy might be sick?
2. She wants to go home and take a picture for http://www.ratemypoop.com
warning: do not visit above link if you have weak stomach.... It was meant for the all mighty Mr. Stevens only.

I'm going with taking it to the vet. But for all you pet owners out there. Everytime you go to the vet ask them for the stool sample container to take home with you. It's a little plastic bottle thing (2 pieces) one that you just put on your finger and stick in the poop. Then it seals in a container. Much cleaner, smaller, and easier than actually carrying poop back to the vet. It's about the size of a pill container you get from the pharmacist.
Where I live, I am required to clean up after my dog. Sometimes if my dog goes more than I expected and I don't have anymore bags, I keep the last one, which has already been used, in case she goes again. That may have been the girl's intention.
