Why is this guy selling his elise?

Because the value of the car in terms of liquid cash assets makes more financial sense at the moment to the owner than the value of the car in terms of possession and usage?
Isn't that usually why people sell things?

That, and I have had the car for two years which is about my automotive attention span. I'll be looking for something tasty in the spring.
Honestly, the car has started to wear on me. If it were my daily driver, I would love it. However, it is something I don't get to drive much. My house is about two miles from work so I either walk or take the dogs in the wagon. When I do have time to drive it, I am usually going someplace fun (like a weekend trip) and want to take the fun car. Here is a good example. Last month we drove up to Aspen for the weekend. It was 90 degrees in Denver and just as hot the entire trip, including Aspen. The AC in the Elise is total crap. If you have two people in there and it is hot out, it is not just uncomfortable, but downright miserable. The lack of stowage is no surprise, but when reality hits, it sucks. Try telling your wife she can bring only as much as would fit in a Trapper Keeper.
Granted, the trip home over Independence Pass took off some of the sting, but I can easily find a car with as much "real world" performance along with functional AC, stowage and a bit of pimp factor. I don't need to suffer my automotive desires.
Hahaha, what a sales pitch! My friend was looking into getting rid of his 2 year old car and finding an elise too. I wouldn't be much of a friend if I were to recommend this auction to him, not that you're gonna need help selling the elise.
