Default Why the hell is ASM so damn expensive?

Decided to have a gander at the ASM website tonight and I kinda wish I didnt.

$630 hood dampeners? A $2700 camera bag? A $3000 leather jacket? $5600 coilovers? $750 business card holder??? You gotta be kidding me....

Has very little to do with ASM, only that branding products makes them more expensive.

Come on!! Isn't it obvious???

ASM Business card holder

Description:
Dry Carbon and A7075 Duralumin construction.

This is one item that will last a lifetime (durable). Designed and constructed the same way as ASM Dry Carbon body parts (heritage), the surface is made as light as possible (lightweight) by polishing the surface without clear coat (custom finish). The ends are made from A7075 duralumin (exotic materials) for light weight and strength (er... light weight and strength). The inner part of the duralumin (custom interiors) has a trench shape (aerodynamic) to perfectly fit the thin carbon (upscale fit and finish). The cover (protection) is as thin as paper (more lightness) and gives a dry sound (tuned acoustics) when opening and closing (functionality) due to the rigidity of the carbon (structural integrity).
That's a racer's wish list right there.

If I was rich, filthy rich, hood rich, I dont care about nothing rich......

[b]I would still never pay $730 for a f*****g business card holder that makes noise when it opens and shuts because the carbon fiber is rubbing together.

I guess Ill settle for the "hand-me-down" stuff.

You really have it backwards.

Charge a crazy price = Make people want it. The limited supply is a factor of the crazy price.

When people stop shopping on price, they spend a lot more money.

If you are going to make and sell high-quality, labor-intensive niche market products, why waste your time on the bottom-dollar market?

I do think the ego/ghey-factor of the $3,000 leather jacket is off the chart, however. Anyone who actually buys one is wearing a duncecap with sleeves. Especially as ASM doesn't make jackshit, they just rebrand other people's products.

Not true at all in the slightest, ASM does more R&D for the S2000 alone than any other companies combined...
