Decided to have a gander at the ASM website tonight and I kinda wish I didnt.
$630 hood dampeners? A $2700 camera bag? A $3000 leather jacket? $5600 coilovers? $750 business card holder??? You gotta be kidding me....

Not true at all in the slightest, ASM does more R&D for the S2000 alone than any other companies combined...
Their brake kits are AP Racing. Drexler makes the LSD. Recaro makes the seats. Aragosta makes the shocks. Exgel makes the seatbelt pads.
That's quite a bit different than say, a tire company that actually makes tires, or a company that actually produces suspension components in a facility they own and operate. ASM might have a CF facility for making the body panels and other pieces, but they clearly source the rest from various vendors. They charge $10K for a diff they buy from a German company that will happily sell you the same thing for 1600 euro.
Hence, my rebranding comment. I'm not making any judgements about the quality of the work or merchandise, just about where it comes from.

The point is that they no more make their hood dampers than they make the leather jackets or the stickers. Other companies actually make the parts and accessories, they might have design input but it isn't like they have a leather shop for making jackets, a sticker printing shop for making stickers, and a carbon fiber production team making business card holders.
