LIRR train conductors earning 200k+ Are you ****ing kidding me? Then claiming disability after they retire?!?! No wonder my monthly ticket was 281 per month. God what corruption in the MTA. I need to move from this hellhole faster than I previously thought.

my uncle was a LIRR conductor and now his son is, they get paid and well tickets used to be 9 bucks round trip from LI to NYC and now its like 20 plus....
Think about how many people commute to nyc from long island per day, hell my dad did it just about every mon-fri as I was growing up

its a pretty boring job and you are risking many lives

Granted 200k is excessive so is the cost of living on LI/NYC. You shouldn't get mad because you probably still get a 6 figure salary. meanwhile these people are on their feet and work at all hours of the day having to deal with the degenerate parts of society. im sure they'd trade places with you sitting in a nice chair at a desk wearing a suit and tie/dress of your choice and not some monkey suit assigned to them. please move, long island needs less bitches. idk what your waiting for.

Teachers add a thousand times more value than an LIRR train conductor and get paid no where near what they do. I am not knocking what they do, which to be honest....ain't much. I am irate at the sheer CORRUPTION. The MTA is corrupt...corrupt...corrupt. 97% disability approval...yea right. Looks like the government is stepping in as Gov. Paterson is calling for a full investigation. The feds have already seized records.


As for being on feet all day....I say BFD....there are thousands of jobs where people are on their feet all day.
