I heard this morning he is on track to hit 87. I'm not sure this is possible.

I wonder if he will be treated like Roger Marris. The press in general never has good things to say about Bonds. And you know how much the press loves MacGuire and Sosa.

If he stays healthy he's got a good shot at it.

But he has to stay on track after the All-Star break.. For whatever reason players are hot early in the season then they hit the All-Star break & they can do anything right.. But I think he has a great shot..

Blah, Blah, Blah, let's bring this up again when he is in mid 50's with time to go.

Someone is always on a great pace and everyone talks about it. Then it goes away. Although, he is kicking some major ass!!!!!!!!!

I hope not. Bonds, IMO, epitomizes all that is wrong with the game today. I have personally seen him snub kids asking for signatures on several occassions. I hate that.

He will end up in Cooperstown someday, no doubt. I would just hate to see him be inducted because of superceeding Big Mac (a player, by the way, who goes out of his way for kids and fans).

I agree with MJ, Bonds is one of the great players in the game today. Unfortunately, the media has not portrayed him a good light. I have seen many players diss fans when it comes to autographs.

To be able to maintain his current home run ratio he would have to hit one homer per every 5.5 at bats. That is an incredible stat. Over a course of 162 games there are alot of things to consider i.e. the position he plays, outfield, tends to be hard on the body. Diving and running for balls day in day out are not easy on the body, and if they are going to pitch to him. Seems like he doesn't have anyone to protect him hitting behind him in the lineup. Well maybe when JT gets healthy again. I would suspect he will slow down his HR pace but you never know. I thought no one would ever hit 70 but the athletes are bigger, stronger and more knowledgeable in this day and age. I would love to see Barry hit 70+ homers...makes the game that much more exciting.
