Default Will Friends Work?

I posted a while back questioning how long is too long for you too still think about someone. Thanks again for all the responses. I got to talk to her tonight and after a little bit of groveling and convincing, we are going to try to be friends. This is after a serious relationship that failed multiple times. I know it's not necessarily a good idea but it's 30 minutes after we got off the phone and i already have a good feeling about it. Do yal think it's going to work? I have a lot of faith but i also like to hear opinions.

Sorry for the harsh truth (those that know me don't like me for that), but... Being friends doesn't work... either (A) you become F-buddies, (B) she starts dating someone else and you really feel like Sh!t, or

I agree with TepEvan. I've tried to be friends with someone I dated for a few years, and (A) and (B) was true for me. She got engaged to someone as we were talking off and on, but still wanted to be (A).

If things are meant to be, it will happen. Don't waste your time when you could be out finding someone better.

Being friends doesn't work, it NEVER has for me.

What if you really want things to work? I think it's worth a shot.

When 100% of the posters say to don't get your hopes up, why are you asking for our opinions anyway when you seem to do what you want?

ok thunderchicken, if 100% of the posters said you were a flamer, would you start taking it up the hershey highway or would you do what you want?

Don't flame him, he's just trying to make you think with your head instead of your heart and save you some anguish.
I know that I personally went through some really tough times (one in particular) where I was killing myself (tried to almost literally) trying to get back with a girl... and after she left me again I finally realized what a dumbass I'd been. Sure I loved her, but noone is worth causing you that much grief.
