Default Will I get screwed

What's going on guys? Need some help about going about Paypal the right way? Completely parting my car and I have a buyer for my turbo kit. Friend is a vendor and mentioned that I could get screwed since this guy is using a credit card to pay for the kit. Thing is he wants to buy more parts. Now can I get screwed by him using a credit card and him canceling the transaction with his credit card company? Once the transaction clears in 30 days the owner can't file a claim but can he file one with his credit card company? Would it be unethical to hold the kit till the 30 days?

Thanks
Elliott

If he is paying by PayPal, see if he is willing to send it as a gift. I believe that is the only way you will be 100% safe. This would also take a lot of faith on his part because then he cold also get screwed over by you if you decided to take his money and run (not that I think you would, but the point has to be made). From what I've read about people having issues with PayPal, usually the buyer is the one that they will side with in the event of any complications or problems. If they are not willing to send it as a gift, you could make sure it is insured, requires signature upon delivery, and do your part to make sure you can prove it was shipped/delivered. Otherwise, transactions over the internet are always going to have their risks. I would call someone that works at PayPal for any more information if you are seriously concerned about this deal. I know I've read about people and even vendors on this forum getting burned by buyers, so I can definitely understand why you would be worried about this.

With that said, good luck and I hope it all works out for you!

The best way is to make sure it sent as a good and make sure the account he is using is confirmed. It usually says "confirmed" under the transaction or user I beleive.

I agree with everything he said. I would definitely contact paypal and go through extra lengths to make sure you are safe when you are going about a few grand. I sold my street bike via ebay all through paypal and everything went smooth. That was roughly $3500

Document everything on your end. Take pictures, save tracking info so that you can provide it all if the person decides to file a fraudulent claim.
