Right-click My Computer on Desktop and select Properties. Or watch when it is booting up.

Thanks for those directions. It says 191 MB. So I guess I'm SOL when it comes to that XP upgrade...

Running Dreamweaver + XP would suck even with 256MB of RAM. You could get 512MB more RAM for like $50-$70. Like this(Assuming it's PC133): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820153101

This site will help you figure out what kind of memory you need based on the brand/model # of the computer: http://kingston.com/

What version? It has become rather bloated over the years.

It was Dreamweaver 8. I didn't need to use Photoshop at all, so only DW was open & running....

Well, you can always upgrade later(RAM or OS) if you just get Windows 2000 and try it out.

I have 7.0, so I don't know if 8.0 is more demanding or less. But it seems like it's become more and more sluggish since I started with 4.X.

Based on the one link you gave me, the Kingston site suggests this: http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurat...=KTH-PVL100/256

256 MB for about $74 from ecost.com I just don't want to get it & not be able to put it in.... Does it take a real tech-wiz to do it???
