Did it say to get 256MB only? Or can you get 512?

This site will give you 512MB of Kingston PC100 for the same price:

It's easy to install. Maybe someone in you regional forum can do it if you don't want to.

Then again, think about how long you want to have your current computer. Maybe you could put that $70 towards a new system. You won't be able to use this memory in a new computer.

Based on the info I put in on the computer model and #, it gave me two choices: 128 MB or 256 MB.

If you can only add 256MB, I would get this:

BTW, it sounds like your system came with 64MB or 128MB and you already added memory. You might have to take some out if the slots are all used up.

If your computer is too old it won't load XP upgrade. Mine was 3-4 years old and crashed when I tried to load XP, had to take it in for repairs. Read the ULTRA FINE PRINT on the XP box, which unfortunately was inside the box. I wasn't able to use it and I couldn't return it.
What? 3-4 years old? If your running a pentium 4 or higher you houldn't have any problems however note you really need to have at least 256meg of memory or preferably 512 megs, I have a old pentium notbook with 128 megs and I'm running XP on it. No doubt its slow but it works, if your crashing then it has to be hardware related or driver related.

Running Dreamweaver + XP would suck even with 256MB of RAM. You could get 512MB more RAM for like $50-$70. Like this(Assuming it's PC133): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820153101
I fully concur, if you can't get 512 dreamweaver will run at a molasses speed.

Going to be an uphill battle. Good luck, get the memory and have a pot a coffee on if your doing anything really intricate.

500mhz P2 + 128mb (possibly 256, but I think it was 128) + an optimized XP Pro install runs just fine for my father. It's possible to install XP on a very slow machine and have it work ok.
