I'm no help but almost every time I try to download a video to watch it Windows Media Player locks up my system and I have to hit the reset button. It's driving me nuts, I removed it from the system and downloaded it again and I'm still having the problem. If anyone has any helpful hints I'd like to hear them also.

exa4driver, you might want to try downloading it again since it's free.

You might want to see if the videos that are locking up your computer are all compressed with the same CODEC (eg. DivX), in which case you may have an old, buggy or damaged CODEC. Windows Media Player comes with a bunch of CODECs, but DivX isn't one of them, so re-installing it wouldn't help in that case.
