Windshield washers should be BANNED from a moving vehicle
They put a hand-brake interlock for the convertable top on our car. They also put a speed detector so when the car is in motion, the top cannot be raised/lowered. If they can do all that, why can't they disable the windshield washer when the car is moving?
Here's the story: I washed my car over the weekend. Then yesterday on the way home on the freeway, the idiot in the car in front decided to use his windshield washer. Of course, half of the spray went right over his car (I was about 5 car lengths behind him); the other half went directly to the cars that were slightly behind him in the adjacent lanes. None of the fluid went on his own windshield!!! I can tell because we were heading directly into the sun and I can see that his wipers were just pushing the dirt around. This caused him to use his washers several more times
Of course, the two cars behind him in the adjacent lanes got their windshields sprayed and they in turn, had to use their washers to clear their windshields. And this caused the spray to get onto the cars behind them... To make a long story short, it was a mess with sprays going everywhere, including my freshly washed car.
So, I am all in favor of banning windshield washers from moving vehicles. They should only be used when the hand-brake is engaged and the speed is below 5-MPH.

Well you are not thinking about this logically. If you ban them from a moving vehicle. What the hell happens when someone drives into a puddle of mud/dirt and splashes the vehicle behind them? That person who is doing say 35mph or faster has to at that point slam on their breaks so they can slow down to 5mph and then turn them on? If they don't slam on their brakes or slow down they have no visibility and that sure as hell can be a dangerous situation. Sometimes wipers just don't cut it for cleaning that stuff off.
