The orthodontist I saw was terrible f'ed everything up. Should have sued him for mispractice

def. should sue, ortho does braces, oral surgery does wisdom teeth..............

I had mine done two years ago. I was at work the next day, no problem. Hopefully you won't get a dry socket, that's when it sucks

no, when you suck (ie straw, cigarette, ect) you get dry sockets

lets see, the operation was not at a hospital because the only place that would accept my insurance was in a private practice in Knoxville, the operation was at 10:00am i slept at 3am and had to wake up at 7 to get there because there might have been bad traffic, so i was asleep before the doc even got to me, but i woke up and then the went through the procedure and gave me the laughing gas(nitrous something i forget what it was, i so high when they answer the question of what it was) i woke up, asked for more gass, they said no so i stumbeld to my car and my mom drove me home, i got home at 1, replaced the gauze in my mouth, still no real pain just a lot of numbness and tingleing on my lower lip and mouth, upper lip still has feeling, i stayed asleep till 7 woke up, mom got my medicine so i just took it, i am gonna try to be like s2k fan and post like a mad man untill the dowsyness kicks in, seeing how i can rember how to spell droysey properly it must be working.

i know, as you can see the plan didnt work as well as i would have liked it to, hey what is a dry socket, and why does drinking with a staw cause it? when i got home i replaced my gauze and the first ones ws absolutly red, then after i fell asleep at 12 and woke up at 7 i removed them again and thankfully tey have coagulated,i cant open my jaw but i was finally able to eat, wat sucks is that since i slept during the day i will be up all night, oh well.

I can safely say that having my wisdom teeth removed was the worst experience of my life.
I had 4 removed in hospital. They gave me a general anasthetic (the pre-med injections were great).
When I woke up my stomach was full of blood and my mouth was full of cotton wool. I was told to bite down to get the wounds to heal properly (great fun when they hurt like hell !!). I later found out that they had to dislocate my jaw and one of the wisdom teeth had to be split with a chisel to get it out as it was so deep.
My face was black and blue and I had heavy bruising on my neck and chest. The corners of my mouth were split as they opened my mouth too much.
I felt like I had been involved in a bad car accident.
The good point is that my doctor took one look at me and signed me off work for 2 weeks
Apart from that it was a great experience

I had two done by Pharmaco. Part of a pain medication study. No cost. The procedure was done be an oral surgeon. After the removal (no problem) they took me to a room to wait for the novacaine to wear off and start the study. After a few hours passed a nurse came by asking when I was going to complain about the pain so they could start the study. I told her this is no problem. I'm ok. At 1:00PM they sent me home because I didn't have enough pain or time to complete the study. So got free treatment, drugs and only had to stay for a few hours. I figured if it didn't hurt as much as any other injury there was no point complaining. I've broken lots of bones in motorcycle accidents so my reference is a little out of whack.
