if you had the option of working at home, would you miss getting out everyday, co-workers? would u miss anything?
Because I have so much paperwork to do, I usually work at home once every couple of weeks or so (on average). It works out well for several reasons, but my job just isn't one I can totally do from home. I have great teammates and would definitely miss that. Besides, I'm a very firm believer in drawing a distinct line between work and play.

too bad I can't work from home. but on the flip side, this reduces my chance of my job moving to another country.

i have the option of working from home so i usually do that monday and friday and try to go in the rest of the week. I find that i tend to do less when i am at work but it is more relaxing.

I miss out on a lot of the work gossip and out of the loop on what is going on, but i think it is well worth it. It doesn't really save me any time for my commute, since i only work 2 miles from my office.

I like to do it when I know things are slow at work, and I can just goof off if I feel like it.

My brother-in-law worked from home for years, and it drove him nuts. He was in Canada, working for a company in Texas, and he only went to the office every six weeks or so.
My sister said he'd be fine for a week or two after each trip, then he'd start worrying that they were going to lay him off, feeling that 'out of sight, out of mind' thing was going on.
He finally took another job a few months ago and feels better, even though he makes less than he used to.

I wouldn't. After a while you will feel detached from the rest of the world, and you will stop taking care of yourself. You will work naked everyday (as long as your SO isn't staying at home) and you will get distracted too easily and you will get less done.
Maybe you're just not disciplined enough. You make alot of bold assumptions that generally are not true. I've been working from home for three years now and:

a. I'm fully clothed
b. I got about a 25% pay increase due to my performance in the past year
c. I take care of myself
and d. I work my ass off

I think your assumptions are way off. Just my opinion.
