^ I think he must've been talking about me.

When I work from home, I'm definitely less productive. There are just too many distractions. So, I just don't do it. Maybe once I get my "home office" finished, I'll do it, but when you have the PC, desk, and TV all in the same room... it's just too easy to flip the TV on and kick back for a while (or a few hours).

I would love to, in fact in my work we should be able to and that's what everyone is trying to get to management.

My main reasons:
1. Save the $200-$300 I use on gas a month.
2. Save 2 hours a day commute time.

And I would be as productive as I am now, which isn't that much anyways

And no i wouldn't get dressed up, basketball shorts and tshirt ftw!

My previous job allowed me to work from home when I'm not travling to a client's site. At first the idea of rolling out of bed at 9am, turning on my laptop and "being online" meant I started "working" was novel. Being able to go out to the gym during lunch and then eat at home is good too. After a month or so, it got old and I missed having that meaningless "water cooler" conversation. Plus, when you work at home, the work hour is a lot longer. I started getting work with west coast clients and that really screwed up my life outside of work.

Now with my new job, I wish I can work at home maybe once a week. That would be swell.

i really HATE working from home. i'd rather be on the road working from a remote office (currently, Panera Bread, or more preferably, an indy coffee shop w/ high ceilings, low music and free wifi)...

if i had a few dogs at home, maybe it'll be better... but being by yourself ALL day drives me nuts. gives me the shakes..

i make myself detach from my computer and go outside for my lunchbreak. after work, i religiously play basketball. gives me the social interaction time, etc.

if i didn't have hoops, i could definitely see myself going a bit stir-crazy.

Maybe you're just not disciplined enough. You make alot of bold assumptions that generally are not true. I've been working from home for three years now and:

a. I'm fully clothed
b. I got about a 25% pay increase due to my performance in the past year
c. I take care of myself
and d. I work my ass off

I think your assumptions are way off. Just my opinion.
I was talking about myself.

then saying:

"I wouldn't. After a while I feel detached from the rest of the world, and I stop taking care of myself. I work naked everyday (as long as your SO isn't staying at home) and I get distracted too easily and I get less done"

...would make alot more sense rather than telling the masses how they WILL feel.

you're no fun! i'd work nakie when my significant other IS home.

i'd love to work from home... but i'm sure i'd never get anything done. i'd just sleep in 'til 11-12, chat it up with all you goobers on s2ki, and eat all day. i'd definitely never get out of my sweats or flip flops.

i would sleep all day and work as little as humanly possible.

why would i feel detatched from the world when i have 300 channels that connecects me to the world (couch potato) with a nice comfy couch and some P0RN, id do just fine.

it would be great!

then again id probably loose my job because of little to none productivity.

Oh yeah id probably be naked half the time too.
