working in other countries... (other than the US)
Hi Mingster. I worked in Spain for a while and can tell you that I loved the experience. Work in the morning, go home in the afternoon for siesta and go back to work for a short time. It helped since I speak three languages for me to be able to get a job there. I would recomend that you find an American company that can base you there. Two reasons for this.1. the pay will be better as well as the benefits. 2. Since the European Union began, they have effectively established a guideline that they will hire European Union members first and foremost. Since there are so many qualified people without jobs over there, you are almost guaranteed to never be able to go over there and land a job unless you are just lucky like I was. I am not sure what your field of specialty is but I am sure that something would suit you in Europe.
Americans are usually viewed quite badly due to there "egocentrismo" egocentricity? Not sure of the word in English. Unfortunately not all of us are that way but we pay for those that are. Experiencing a new culture can really have a positive impact on your life. I can

it may depend on the outfit you work for........my wife worked in japan but her boss was the japanese ministry of health .....TONS of paperwork and the tax situation was a mess.....working for a US firm in a foreign country might be a better idea......
Switzerland for 3 years. Great experience and loads of fun. Very expensive and difficult language (Swiss German where I lived). Family benefited and learned a great deal, it changed all of our lives.
