Working out for my New Year Resolution. Any Tips?

Here's a tip for you: work out because you'd like to be in shape and good health, not because of "New Year's resolution". "Resolutions" usually last a good 2 weeks.

Slow and out of shape compared to marathon runners? Anyone who can run at 6 mph for 50 minutes straight is not slow and out of shape by any mean. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

lol im pretty sure its more liek this

mile 1 = 10min
mile 2 = 12min
mile 3 = 14min
mile 4 = 16 min
mile 5 in 18 min

total = 70 min!! and im sure it could be alot worse!

i ment if he avg a 10 min mile....he can run 5 miles in 50 min....that should be doable in a month if he builds himself up. And not very timeconsuming

What you meant was that anyone slow or out of shape could do that, when in reality, it's pretty damn impressive to be able to do 50 minutes at 6 mph (maybe not when compared to "pro" marathon runners). I think anyone who's able to do that must be in healthy shape.
