What I think is most interesting about that commercial is how they give the guy a little mole/wart on the side of his face, so you *know* that it's the same guy growing up, not just a random bunch of people.

See what they did there?

I agree with the OP. It's as if the people responsible for the ad got too close to the project, focused only on the message of "priorities change," and lost sight of something glaringly obvious. IMO, the slogan "Chevy Runs Deep" is another example of this.
