And while I don't know what I would do, I do think the guy did a very selfless, honorable act. Kudos to his family for raising a son that can so immediately recognize a situation and act in such a way.

I think that was a very honorable move, purely selfless. If I was one of the survivors there probably wouldn't be one day in my life that would pass that I did not think of him. In those tiny seconds what was truly in his heart came out.

This soldier saved lives by taking his own life. He put others before himself. WTF is wrong with you people have some respect for a man who did what most of you cowardass BOYS wouldn't have!!

Just for reference, the soilder was on the gun turrent up top, standing somewhat inside the truck. The granade flew by him and into the cab, windows were closed, they also said in the article that the granade was stuck,(i'm not sure how they would know that) I think he only had two choices; jump=live or save his friends, I don't think everyone could have lived.

The man is a hero period! May God bless his soul and his loved ones and the person or persons who taught him to be so selfless.

I didn't ask anyone to fight for me. It's not my fault that he was a punk-ass teenager and decided to go into the army because he was too stupid to get into college. Selfless? He saw it on a movie and thought it would be cool to be a hero. Grats to him. We'll forget him in a week.
