Would you, given the option taken a

$50-60,000 all aluminum S2K? Weighing in at ~2300 lbs?

Same engine, drivetrain, suspension, etc. Just a 100% aluminum frame, and body.

I wouldn't...even if I could afford it, the only purpose would be for those who really really wanted better performance, which is something i can live without. Also, it'd look stupid considering there'd be no way of differentiating your car with a regular S2000.

Nope, for that price I would get a 'Vette. Part of the reason I bought my 2k was the price. I think 55 to 60K is just too much.

I just spent over 5 min. replying on this in the car talk forum only to find that it moved before I could submit. anyways the jist of what i said was for that much money, a lot of choices open up. A nice used NSX, a 540 and a Miata. While it would no doubt be quite a car, I think it would put it into another market where I wasn't looking.

Nope. I'd be looking at the next step up. Perhaps an NSX (slightly used)

I guess it depends on what the performance figures come out to when you shed 400lbs out of the car.

I couldn't afford the $50K, but if I could I bet the car would be a barn-burner.
