Would you buy a seized vehicle?

Finally sold my car as of yesterday. Now I need a replacement vehicle. Still cannot afford S2000 since I am unemployed. I saw some really nice prices for some really nice vehicles. I was wondering if there is any downside to buy a seized vehicle? Does anybody have experience buying one? Would it cause problems later on (legal)? I need a car ASAP and I do not know anything about this. Thanks!!

This is my story,

Back in high school, my girlfriend bought an old RX3 at auction for $100. It took me two freakin weeks to get it running. A month later the rotor seal blew and the engine seized.

I may be wrong but I don't think that's what he was talking about.

one of my friends bought at a gov't auction: BMW 318is and a jetski trailer with two jetskis for $16k. no problems with the car, we made several long distance trips in it. You can't beat that bargain with a stick.

LOL , I guess she picked the car from the seized engine lot instead of the seized car lot.

This is getting tempting. You can actually see and check out the car before you buy and there are 98 M3s and etc that go for below $5K. I found this through a site which directed me to another pay site. Now I cannot make myself register and pay since I am afraid that it can be a marketing trick and there is actually nothing much inside.

I am wondering if I decide to buy a car, can I buy the car immediately or do I have to wait for the auction times that happens twice a month at certain places.

Josh:
The price you mentioned is still a very good deal but nothing compared to what I saw the prices on the ads at. Are the prices I found out only the starting bids.

I have bought at the government actions before, and the only thing that I can recommend is not to bye something too close to home. Don't want to bye a car that someone might be looking for (because they had it confiscated). The one car that I bought, and a few that my friends have gotten, had no problems in the life that I (or they) had it/them. Just make sure you get a good look before you bye.

Depends how much you have to pay ... If it's at an unbeatable price, why not? Hell, you can always insure it and when it does get stolen if you're so lucky then you can get another one at market value. Even better then ...
