I had a friend, whom I was really close with when we were teenagers. He's a couple of years older than I am. When he turned 17, he left for the monastery. I thought he was just going through a phase, and never thought he'd make it. He had girlfriends but I'm pretty sure he was still a virgin when he left.

Well, now 10 years later, and he just became a Catholic priest. When I heard the news, I was so shocked. We didn't speak again when he left because I was mad at him for something. He got his Ph.D in theology and stuff, and has just been "inducted" by the Pope in person into priesthood. Wow! He got to hold hands with the Pope.

Anyway, last week there was an introductory mass for him, yet I didn't come. I'll probably come by to say hi in the near future. I have to call him "Father" now. I'm still in shock. He made priesthood and is dedicating his whole life to the Lord. No, he's not going to be one of those child-molesting priests. He's Asian. What does that mean? I don't know, but I don't think there is any child-molesting Asian priest or Buddhist monk in the world. But let's not turn this into a racial thing.

In case anyone is not too familiar with Catholic priests, they are not allowed to have wives, sexual pleasures, or any form of relationship, other than families (mothers, fathers, etc.). On the contrary, Lutheran, Christian, etc., priests are a joke. They preach this and that, then go home to their wives and stuff their faces in their wive's cherries. If they are going to dedicate themselves to preaching about the Lord, their lives must be pure from sexual pleasures and stuff.

i think you should introduce him to street racing. this way the both of you will have something to do together.
