Agreed. Not cool. If I were these guys I'd fight every ticket. It's a law in CA that if you are holding up 5 people behind you on a 2 lane road that you MUST pull over and let them pass. To willfully violate this law in order to frustrate a bunch of riders and essentially force them to pass you so you can ticket them is unethical, unsafe, illegal, and probably entrapment. It's sad when our peace officers, who could be making a difference by pursuing REAL criminals, choose to target groups such as this for no good reason.

That sounds like BS. Maybe they had had so many complaints about sportbikes that they felt they had to do something or maybe they thought a "wanted" man would be riding with this group. Either way it sucks.

and let's not forget that they did break the law by passing on a double yellow and speeding. Now I am not saying that there aren't more important things out there, but it is the law.

I am sure that they could have gone over all of those bikes and found more things that were illegal if they had wanted too. Instead the cited them for what they did and that is that.

The Law is the Law plain and simply! You eather abide by it or not. If you choose not to then you alone suffer the consequences. These young riders broke the law and got caught at it plain and simple. Rather it was a sting operation or not is not what is in question. Some of you obviously have not read the comments on the bulletin board.

This particular group has been breaking the law for a considerable length of time. They have disrupted the lives of the people of Marin, Ca., for awhile. The citizens of Marin reported it and the CHP took action.

These guys are no better than common criminals who repeat their same unlawful actions every Sunday. The only shame here is on the riders that got busted. Actually, I'd call it justice at it's finest.

The law is there for everyones protection. If you are outside the law in your actions than you are law breaker a criminal. Their actions are nothing but blatent disregard for those laws.

Go back and read some of the responses of the riders and how they still don't want to take responsibility for their actions. They got legitmate tickets! A sting type action on the part of the CHP was quite befitting the circumstances. Just maybe it will save someones life in the future! If you can't obey the law on your own you can't obey the law period!!!

Yes, but the SUV who impeded traffic (driven by law enforcement no doubt) to cause the cyclists to pass in the first place was ALSO breaking the law as California required motorists to pull over if they are impeding 5 or more
