Default Wowzer!

I decided to check out Boeing in Anaheim. I figured that if they had any interesting openings I could cut my daily commute by 75%: from 40 miles each way to 10 miles each way. Translation: more time with the new horse.

On Thursday I applied on-line for 5 positions; I had found 6 which looked interesting but when I applied for one they said it was closed.

This morning I got a reply from Boeing saying that they had my resume on file and they've a few positions available which might interest me, based on the information on my resume.

They gave me 165 positions to consider! One hundred sixty-five!

Wowzer!

I'll be up all night looking through job descriptions!

WOW, I didn't know the economy was that much better to be able to offer 165 jobs. Are you sure they didn't make a mistake. Hard to believe that they're hriing that much down in your area.

I haven't gone through all of the listings, but they're all over this area: Anaheim, Garden Grove, Seal Beach, Long Beach, Torrance, El Segundo.

Clearly their automated response just grabbed keywords from my resume and included any opening with the same keyword, anything from Summer internships and entry-level positions to upper-level management. This would explain how I got a couple of listings for administrative assistants (my guess: I included Excel in my resume); I'm still not sure why they included a listing for an opening for a truck driver, though.

Good luck with the new job prospects! I just resigned from my current job about an hour ago

A HUGE raise, 4 weeks paid vacation, dollar 4 dollar matching on 401k did the trick

Don't know about that. My uncle works for Boeing and he is being shipped to Texas. I think they just laid off a bunch of people. My buddy used to work there also. He was in defense so his budget never got slashed.

BTW: My girlfriend works next door to Boeing in Anaheim and she says there are 3 S2Ks in the parking lot.
