WRX owners!!!
I was out looking at the WRX today. For those who own them, how do you feel about it? Have you had any issues with the car. Most of the press that I have read has been very positive. I read the interrim review in AutoWeek. They liked the car, but hey did have an issue with a motor mount which was replace, but they still felt the car had an issue there, vibration I think?
Also does anyone have the WRX wagon, and again, if so what are your impressions?
Thanks,
Ken

I have a few friends with WRX Wagons - one of them comes on this board in the Central Texas Forum. Great cars and apparently the wagon only adds another 70#'s to the total weight. If I needed the extra luggage capacity, I'd get one.
snagged this from the wrx club pages.......
after reading all the threads about the WRX, i totally regret on buying a WRX.
1. I traded in my suv for the WRX because of AWD, 4 cylinder gas mileage, supposedly reliable.
"my suv had CEL on after 45,000, i hear complaints about
CEL on WRX's. 4 cylinder gas mileage on the WRX is a joke.
reliable? i don't think so, differential noise, loud squeeking
fan belt noise when the engine is cold, with 4,000 miles the
car doesn't feel like it's brand new, it feels like it has 60K
miles on it with all the vibrations."
2. I'm afraid that if something does happen like clutch or drivetrain problems, the dealer won't fix it because they "assume" that i beat the crap out of it. Because there seems to be a trend about young drivers and WRX's. I'm 26 by the way.
3. If you ask me, I think the WRX is like a Ducati. But the WRX isn't too exotic. If there are bike fans out there you'll know what i mean. Ducati forums are full of complaints about clutch and taransmission problems just like the I-club. All I ever see in the "I-Club" is problem about clutch problems, tranny problems, differential noise.
It all comes down to, if I knew about all these problems, I would've never bought a Subaru. I should've spent my $25K on a Toyota Camry. My brother has a '99 brand new back then, now with 95K hwy miles on it, and has no problems. The engine is smooth as new, except for the suspensions. Which is acceptible for all the mileage. Anybody want to buy my WRX. $26K is the payoff. 18" wheels included, don't want any money. Just pay the bank off. did not have to put down payment down when bought the car. that's why the car's price is high.
p.s. too all subaru owners, this is my opinion. no hard feelings

Er, mine's 2 years old and has never had anything go wrong. It also spends time on the circuit. Of course you read about problems on i-club. It's the same here. They are extremely reliable cars, even when modified. If you take one for a test drive and like it, buy it.
