[QUOTE]So, f.u.c.k my life.
Last weekend I was taking a friend home from my house, and we got shot at. Yup. I am not associated with any gangs and neither is my friend, we don't live in bad neighborhoods and we were not starting **** with anyone...

So, at 5AM on a Sunday morning, I pull into a neighborhood, it was still dark outside, I see a red Chevy Colorado just chillin' there at the intersection kind of sticking out like it wasnt supposed to be there and I didn't really think anything of it and kept driving.

A little later I notice that they're behind me but it was hard to see because they had their lights off. They start to tailgate me, and I sped up. All of the sudden they high beam me and shoot at my car. I didn't know what was going on until I heard a POOF in my glass and my friend said 'get the **** out of here', so I floored it and they made a right somewhere behind me. After that I pulled into a culdesac and started to have a panic attack.

They shot straight down the middle of my car from the back windshield, through the rear center headrest, through the front windshield. I sat there for an hour, finally decided to have my friend drive my car home because I felt.. numb? Called the cops and waited 3 hrs for them to come to my house. They said they found 2 shells at the crime scene.

No sleep, no rest the whole day just kind of still in shock. Cops said it could have been one of those gang initiation shootings or just some dumb people.

DO NOTE USE SAFELITE AUTO GLASS They did a horrible job and charged me $1077.

Now everything is finally starting to sink in...
But anyway, now I have a ****ty windshield, no back tint, and a hole in my headrest.

wow dude that's just scary; wouldn't be surprised if it was somewhere in L.A? Considering it's in So-cal?

bullets usually go straight, so if they were shooting straight, the trajectory makes sense, no?

they (the attackers) must've already started their turn a little bit when that shot went through the car

That's both a yes and a no. The angle of the glass will effects the trajectory as well as the rear headrest. In general I would think that the heavier the bullet, the less deflection. In fact, it's my understanding that many rounds would not have even make it all the way through the way that did. Thus, I curious what round was used.

I hope if something like that ever happened to me that I wouldn't stop in a dead end for an hour waiting for the shooter to return...

If you look at the angles, and think about the height of a truck as the firing point, it did deflect some.
