Default WTF is wrong w/ my iTunes?

ok, i admit i dont read manuals. but i don't need to 99% of the time.

iTunes happens to be the honorary 1%.

i have 3 computers, all w/ different songs, and i simply want to add songs from 3 computers to the iPod. nothing fancy.

but this fuC#tard iTunes keeps asking me if I want to replace the whole music library when i connect to a different PC, and OVERWRITES everything.

what the f##k do i need to do????

itunes is not your problem. the iPod is.

the iPod is specifically designed to copy songs off one computer and only one computer at a time. if you connect the iPod to another computer, it will copy those (new) songs and replace the songs already in the drive.

Why not just put all the songs onto a single computer?

I agree with the last post--however I would go buy one of those new 1gb flash sticks and I think you could put quite a few mp3's on that and transfer them to a single computer.

Connect your iPod as a hard drive to the other computers. Then transfer the songs as the file folders they're stored in on your computer. They'll all show up in your iPod as music.

I did this with 16 gigs of music a friend of mine ripped. A few weeks later my iPod froze, crashed, and lost everything. . . but that's another story.

Good luck.

P.S. - this only works for ripped (or stolen) music. Music purchased throughiTunes only works on one computer, and one iPod (I think. . . maybe you're allowed to transfer it once? I can't remember, but be aware of that).

you do not legally own the music that your girlfriend owns or the music that your friend owns. that is piracy. you are in essence illegally downloading songs onto your ipod when you do that. so obviously they want to stop people like you from doing these kinds of things. one way to get around this is to network the computers together or use the flash drives as people said.

while i'm sure apple would like to suck your phat dick but with their stock prices tripled, i'm sure they can afford better
